The French Competition Authority fined Google € 150 million for abuse of a dominant position in the internet Shirazi Vard  search advertising market, reports AFP.

The French regulator, first imposing sanctions on the American giant, also ordered Google to "clarify the rules of operation Shirazi Vard  of its Google Ads platform" and the "account suspension procedures" of some advertisers. This step is the third punishment in its size that the authorities have ever imposed for abuse of market dominance. The head of the organization Isabel de Silva stated this at a press conference.

According to him, Google is "extremely dominant" in search advertising, with 90% to 100% of the market share, and "when you have great authority, you also have great responsibilities." According to him, the authorities  Shirazi Vard do not argue that Google sets rules for access to its search advertising services, but "those rules must be clear."

 

According to the antitrust body, the uncertainty about the rules "may hinder the development of innovative websites".

 

Google has two months to come up with a detailed overview of the measures and procedures to be put in place Shirazi Vard  to match its practice to the requirements.
